The last wedding before COVID-19.
It was a foggy and rainy day in Arizona. I was driving from Tucson to Chandler, which usually takes an hour and a half. However, the freeway was treacherous due to heavy fog and water splashing from cars and trucks. In the back of my mind, I wondered how an outdoor wedding would occur.
I reached the hotel at noon while it was pouring heavily, where the ladies were getting ready. When we were all heading out to the venue from the hotel, the skies cleared, and the sun was out! It was literally such perfect timing; I couldn’t believe it!! Took photos of the bridal party and groomsmen on the golf course before the ceremony. Half of the altar was in shade, while the other half was in sunlight. Was hoping for clouds to come back to create even lighting. Clouds appeared right before the ceremony, creating perfect lighting throughout the site.
After the ceremony, we took family and wedding party photos. The sun shone through the trees, creating a beautiful backdrop. It was the perfect backlit situation! Again, I couldn’t believe it! We took the Campbells’ couple photos in a private area of the golf course after the first round of photos. Right then, we got the BEST golden hour lighting right behind them.
Perfect day, perfect plan, best lighting ever! It wasn’t until the end, when we were supposed to do a sparkler exit that things hit a bump. It was POURING rain outside, and we moved the sparkler exit to inside the reception area, which was a NIGHTMARE. Broken glass and sparklers flying, but perfect day for Campbell’s wedding! To this day, one of my favorite weddings ever!
