Rita and I initially discussed the mini-sessions I hosted in 2020 with her boyfriend, Brandon. At the time, Rita resided in Phoenix, while Brandon lived in Mountain Home, Idaho. Unfortunately, our plans fell through, and we didn’t get to meet at that time. However, we later discovered that Brandon and my husband TJ worked together, making it a small world after all. After a few months of chatting, I asked if they would be willing to model for my friend and me at our workshop in Salt Lake City as an elopement couple. They agreed, and in May 2021, we spent time together in Salt Lake.
Fast forward to March 2022, we all met in Las Vegas for their actual elopement day. The day began with taking some photos of them getting ready and spending time in their hotel room. They were doing some last-minute preparations before we left for the Valley of Fire state park, located approximately 50 minutes from Las Vegas. We headed to the first location and found a spot to park. They both got dressed up, and he helped her put on her dress while she helped him with his suit. This is where they exchanged their personal vows and had their initial dance as the sun went down behind the stunning red rocks.
After spending time at Valley of Fire State Park, we returned to the city and ended our day with flash photography and hanging out at the casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. We had the best pizza on the strip and then went our separate ways so that they could spend some time together since we finished up around midnight.
If you are considering eloping in Las Vegas, I highly recommend it. There are countless elopement options and ideas from a photographer’s perspective. However, it is ultimately up to you to decide what is best for your special day in Vegas.
